Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) has named three senior industry leaders to head Toyota Automated Logistics (TAL), its new global warehouse automation business. The appointments establish leadership for the organization ahead of its official launch on April 1, 2026. Hitoshi Matsuoka has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Central. Thomas Hibinger will serve as CEO for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, while Aaron M. Jones will lead the Americas as regional CEO.
Toyota Automated Logistics brings together the capabilities of Bastian Solutions,Vanderlande’s warehousing business and viastore under one unified brand. The new organization will deliver integrated warehouse automation systems, intelligent software platforms and lifecycle services designed to support modern supply chain operations.
The brand will be introduced to industry audiences during LogiMAT and MODEX, two major international logistics trade events. TAL’s combined expertise allows customers to design, implement and expand automation strategies across a wide range of warehouse and fulfillment environments.
Hitoshi Matsuoka, Central CEO of TAL, emphasized the significance of the leadership appointments. “Thomas and Aaron have demonstrated strong leadership across our automation businesses and have helped deliver innovative solutions for complex logistics challenges,” he said. “Their appointments reflect our commitment to building on the strengths of our technologies, software and services while delivering a consistent customer experience across regions.”
Mr Matsuoka joined Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, now Toyota Industries Corporation, in 1990. Over his career he has worked in both textile machinery and materials handling equipment businesses. From 2020 to 2025 he served as President of Toyota Automated Logistics North America. Since 2025 he has held the position of Executive Officer at Toyota Industries Corporation and serves on the board of Toyota Material Handling Europe.
Thomas Hibinger currently serves as President and CEO of viastore. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its portfolio of material flow and distribution technologies, supporting automation projects at more than 3,000 facilities across Europe.
Aaron M Jones is President and CEO of Bastian Solutions. During his tenure the company experienced significant growth, increasing revenue more than fourfold. Jones also led Bastian Solutions through its transition to become part of the Toyota Automated Logistics Group, including the integration of five strategic acquisitions.
